“Cotton that becomes leather” is the final frontier of Romito Manifatture, a young brand in expansion founded in 2014, already present in more than 120 sales outlets around the world. Created by Qiaoyong Zhou, a Chinese entrepreneur naturalized as an Italian citizen with a great admiration for Italy, the Romito Manifatture brand has a 100% made in Italy identity that is expressed through continuous research for the unprecedented and the enthusiasm of fashion that interweaves ethics and aesthetics.
This is testified by the new line of men and women’s jackets for the Winter 2018-2019 collections, recently launched at Pitti Uomo 93: “The garments feel like leather garments, but if you observe them carefully - explains Qiaoyong Zhou - you realize that they are made of cotton.”
The fabric is in fact subjected to a complex processing to achieve that “vintage chic” look of handcrafted leather garments. Products that have a strong fashion content, but ones that favour natural fibres treated in full respect of the environment. But it doesn’t end here. «At Pitti Uomo 94 in June – concludes Zhou – together with the cotton-leather applied to other garments and accessories for the 2019 summer collection, we will present new very, very special treatments».
